Thoughtful software for systems that need to last

I work with teams on software, infrastructure, and hardware where reliability matters after launch as much as it does on launch day. If you are working through a difficult technical problem, I would be glad to hear the context.

Karimov Labs studio

A working note

Good engineering is often quiet: clear choices, dependable systems, and room for the people who come next.

Now

CTO advisor at DigiSmart Tech, working across technical strategy, architecture, and delivery.

Previously

Led mobile engineering at PASHA Bank, supporting more than 140 services and approximately 250,000 monthly active users.

In practice

This site runs on Docker, Nomad, and Consul — the same operational principles I bring to client work.

Working style

Small, focused engagements with clear ownership, careful decisions, and respect for the people who maintain the work.

Materials

A practical range of tools and disciplines, shaped by products I have shipped, operated, and studied closely.

  • Mobile

Native Android and iOS for payments, provisioning, and products that need to remain dependable in daily use.

  • Services

APIs, BFFs, and microservices — the contracts that keep clients, data, and teams moving together.

  • Data

SQL, NoSQL, and graph systems, including benchmarks of Neo4j, TigerGraph, and Oracle PGX on fraud workloads.

  • Runtime

Docker, Nomad, Consul, Vault, and Terraform, with an emphasis on repeatable operations.

  • Identity

Keycloak and application security, including the practical questions that come with review and audit.

  • Hardware

Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and programmable chips for work that benefits from a connection to the physical world.

  • Quality

Automated testing, performance, and operational behavior considered together rather than as a final pass.

Work shaped by real constraints

boolood

Native apps for an open-air electronic music organizer, covering ticket sales through Google Pay, Apple Pay, BirPay, and cards. The system combines rotating QR tickets, a BFF layer, an internal Next.js dashboard, and an operational chatbot connected to live data across Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram.

How projects take shape

A considered process leaves room for judgment, evidence, and the realities of operating software.

01

Start with the situation

Share the users, constraints, and what already exists. A clear account of the difficulty is more useful than a polished pitch.

02

Make the important decisions explicit

We establish what matters, what can wait, and where uncertainty lives. The right size and stack follow from that understanding.

03

Build carefully, then test the edges

The work is implemented with attention to its architecture, everyday operation, and the quiet failure modes that only appear after launch.

A good technical conversation can start simply.

I advise as CTO at DigiSmart Tech and previously led mobile engineering at PASHA Bank. If the work would benefit from a second perspective, email is the best way to reach me.
